We have a variety of safaris to suit all budgets. For example, our Cape Town to Victoria Falls camping tour is under $100 per day which is fantastic value, including most meals. Our game lodge stays are perfect for that quick getaway, and are also well-suited to conferences and meetings. We host and organise arrangements all over the world to suit your needs.

So who is Swagman?

Swagman Tours was formed in 1986 by Pat Mangan. Starting off with one vehicle and a desire to see the Birdsville races, Pat took a group of friends away. Over the years, word spread about Swagman's unique itineraries and unbeatable value.

For many years now Swagman has been successfully conducting camping safaris to every remote corner of this fascinating continent (Australia) using small 4-wheel-drive vehicles, 27-seat safari trucks for off the beaten track destinations, and luxury safari coaches.

In an effort to offer clients new options, overland tours in Southern Africa were introduced. Steadily over the years Swagman Tours has been providing Australians and New Zealanders a vast array of touring options throughout Africa, covering all budgets. The focus remains on overlanding and finding products that are sure to thrill, excite and showcase the amazing continent of Africa.

Swagman Tours changed its logo a few years ago to reflect the company's core values - Experience, Discover, Explore. The feet represent the desire for our tours to have a light environmental and social impact whilst promoting the desire to go 'walkabout'.

If there is a place in outback Australia you want to go to but don't know how to reach - Pat's the man to ask. He has traversed Australia's countryside, and now much of Africa, too many times to count! A self-confessed "simple bushie", his love for the outdoors is unsurpassed, and still loves to settle, of an evening, beside a fire, under the stars, in his trusty swag.     Places visited - mostly anywhere you might think of going!

Wayne has a wealth of experience having lived and worked in Africa over the past 20 years and brings to Swagman Tours a highly successful sales and marketing background. His unbridled passion, energy and love for Africa is so infectious that you could be forgiven for thinking he is an official ambassador for the African continent. Wayne recently had a "seachange" and with his family relocated from Sydney to the Geelong coastal area to take up his exciting new position with the company. Wayne's focus is currently on streamlining our product and raising awareness of the Swagman brand.     Places visited - Southern & Eastern Africa, Mauritius & Seychelles, Bali, Singapore & Hong Kong, New Zealand, Vanuatu & Noumea, Australia, Great Britain & Ireland, Amsterdam & Paris.

SOULA 

Office Manager

Soula (pronounced 'So-la') is originally from the UK and has worked in the wholesale industry for 20 years. Some of that time was spent working for a business travel company who arranged group travel for aid workers and missionaries to poor and war-torn countries. She joined Swagman Tours in 2006 and now manages the office operations in addition to organising specialist group tours.  Soula has a passion for any type of travel and loves to share her experiences and stories.     Places visited - Southern Africa incl South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya, Morocco, UK & Ireland, most of Continental Europe, Dubai, South-East Asia & China, USA & Canada, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand & Fiji.
