Day to Day Itinerary

1: GEELONG - MELBOURNE - BALLARAT - HORSHAM - VICTOR HARBOR

Morning departure from Geelong (Swagman Tours office) at 6:30am, Spencer Street (Southern Cross) Station Coach Terminal at 7:30am and follow the Western Highway through The Wimmera with its wheat fields stretching as far as the eye can see. Cross the border into South Australia and travel through Bordertown and Tailem Bend to cross the Murray on the ferry at Wellington. Continue on to the historic paddle steamer river village of Goolwa situated 12km from the mouth of the Murray where it enters the sea, before continuing to Victor Harbor. Time for the energetic to walk or take the horsedrawn trolley (optional) over to Granite Island to wander around this historic settlement. O/N: Victor Harbor

2: VICTOR HARBOR - KANGAROO ISLAND

Travel to Cape Jervis where we board the ferry to Kangaroo Island for the next two nights. Spend this afternoon and the next two days enjoying the natural delights of the island, which is the third largest island in Australia and one of the last unspoiled wonders of the world. O/N: Kangaroo Island

3: KANGAROO ISLAND

Visit the north coast and Kingscote including the American River, Constitution Hill, Snellings Beach and Stokes Bay. Over the next two days see Seal Bay Conservation Park with its permanent colony of Sea Lions, Remarkable Rocks, Weirs Cove, Cape De Couedic, Admirals Arch and the Rocky River wildlife area. Be amazed at the variety of wildlife to be seen on both days. Also included is a visit to the Eucalyptus Oil Distillery. O/N: As Above

4: KANGAROO ISLAND - CAPE JERVIS - VICTOR HARBOR

Spend the day touring before departing this idyllic spot and enjoy dinner on the island at Penneshaw before the crossing back to the mainland on the evening ferry. Retrace our steps back to Victor Harbour for the last evening of the tour. O/N: Victor Harbour

5: VICTOR HARBOR - HORSHAM - BALLARAT - MELBOURNE - GEELONG

Leave the Murray River and this sleepy historic town behind crossing the border back in to Victoria as we travel home along the Western Highway. Enjoy glimpses of the picturesque Grampians on our way back to Melbourne and Spencer Street arriving approximately 6:00pm and Geelong at 7:00pm so ending a memorable trip to South Australia and the fascinating Kangaroo Island.
