Day to Day Itinerary

1: Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve

Be picked up from your hotel or the airport for the drive to the Masai Mara. In the afternoon enjoy your first game drive. The camp is inside the reserve.

2: Masai Mara

Enjoy a full day game viewing in the Masai Mara. Its 320 square kilometres of open savannah, woodlands and tree-lined rivers creates an eco system which supports huge numbers of bird and mammal species. Camping overnight.

3: Mara - Olasur

On a small track, drve to the heart of the Loita Hills. We meet our Masai guides who will accompany us for the next 3.5 days. Camp overnight.

4: Trek Engare Nanyuki

Passing villages, walk through thick forest where we can observe colobus monkeys, manydifferent birds and gigantic forest trees. Camp on a hilltop with great views towards the enscarpment. Camp overnight.

5: Trek Tiamanagen

Passing through many villages we meet with the friendly Masai inhabitants and stop to drink tea and chat with the local people. Camping overnight.

6: Trek Oljoro Oibor

Making our way to the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment we cross small streams and pass outcrops of rare plant life. Set up camp from where you will have breathtaking views over Lake Natron.

7: Trek Pakase

An early start for a hot descent to the Rift Valley floor, down a rocky enscarpment and across the desert plains brings us to the cool shade of Pakase River. Transfer to 'Loisiijo' Shompole Community Eco-Lodge on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro river for a relaxed afternoon in the shade of gaint fig trees and overnight.

8: Shompole - Lake Magadi - Nairobi

Early moprning walk along the riverbank viewing birds and wildlife in the riverine forest. Back in the vehicles we cross the hot slat plains of Lake Natron where the Wildebeest's silhouette shimmers in the heat. Our journey takes us to Lake Magadi where we can see thousands of flamingoes and different birdlife in the shallow alkaline waters. Climbing back up the Rift Valley escarpment in our vehicles we retrun to the hustle and bustle of Nairobi.
