Day to Day Itinerary

1: Arusha to Lake Manyara

Depart Arusha mid morning and travel to Lake Manyara (or Tarangire depending on the time of year) National Park for an afternoon game drive and picnic lunch in the park.

2: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Departing Lake Manyara after breakfast and head for the densely forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The camp site is set on the rim of the caldera. If time permits an optional visit (early evening/sunset) can be arranged to a Masai village boma where you can learn about the Masai culture, traditions and beliefs . Optional activity: Masai Village visit.

3: Ngorongoro Crater

Today descend the steep walls of the crater to admire the microcosm of life within it. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater at a lakeside location. The crater (it is actually a caldera not a crater) is home to a great diversity of environments and you may encounter lions, hyenas, jackals, elephants, rhinos and other game animals.

4: Ngorongoro to Serengeti

Today travel to the plains of the Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai is of archaeological significance due to the discovery of some of Africa's most important hominid fossils.

5: Serengeti National Park

Morning and afternoon game-drives in the central Seronera zone of Serengeti National Park. Africa's most famous game reserve covers an area of almost 15,000km2 and is world-renowned for its predator population and the annual wildebeest migration.

6: Serengeti National Park

Continue the exploration of the Serengeti plains. An opportunity exists to so an optional hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti. This is truly a wonderful experience. It must be pre booked in advance.

7: Serengeti to Lake Victoria

We enjoy an early morning game drive before travelling through the western corridor of Serengeti National Park on to Lake Victoria. It is a long dusty drive to Spekes Bay but the end result of seeing Lake Victoria is well worth it.

8: Speke Bay, Lake Victoria

Enjoy an early breakfast watching and listening to the magnificent fish eagles passing over the lake before another day of game drives.

9: Lake Victoria - Masai Mara

Cross the Tanzania / Kenya border and continue onto the Masai Mara. Today is a long travel day but if time permits head out on an afternoon game drive.

10: Masai Mara

Enjoy game drives in both the morning and the afternoon.

11: Lake Nakuru

Travel to Lake Nakuru, famous for it's flamingos. At certain times Lake Nakuru can support flocks of up to two million greater and lesser flamingoes. In the afternoon head out on a game drive.

12: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast head out on a game drive before continuing onto the fresh water of Lake Naivasha. You'll visit Elsamere, the former home of the Adamson's and their famous lioness, Elsa, who was hand reared and successfully re-introduced into the wild against all odds.

13: Naivasha

Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Naivasha

14: Nairobi

After breakfast, head back to Nairobi.
