[We] would just like to thank you sincerely for all your effort and knowledge in putting together for us such a great trip. Our two extensions were both great experiences and you couldn’t have done better squeezing so much into such a short time.
Accommodation, pick ups, tours and your organising were all top class and we just had two great weeks of memories and fun we will never forget (well until we really get really old maybe).
Thanks again and will recommend your team to any people we meet organising travel plans, many regards.
I was extremely happy with it all and my group was most impressed. The itinerary worked very well and worked up to the high, that is Kirkmans Kamp. Sighted all the Big 5 and so much more and just before we left Kirkmans for home, we sighted and spent time watching 2 males and a lioness walking through the bush, resting, walking past our vehicles on their way to Sand river.
What a way to finish, no wonder everyone came home on a high!! Kirkmans is just wonderful and I would recommend it as guests last stay in South Africa, such a high to leave on. They have had great sightings of two packs of painted dogs with puppies, we have great photos of 1 pack and of course the two leopard cubs (which we did not see, saw the mum), lions, buffalo, cheetah, hyena, elephants, hippos, zebra, wart hogs, birds, impala, mongoose and baboons. We actually have photos of a buffalo kill by lions and leopard kill of impala and a hyena who had stole some kill…
The 12 seater was great for 10, allowed a little space, would be a little tight for 12 especially on the long drive day from Knysna to Capetown. I liked Hermanus, whales were sighted and … We all loved the Featherbed tour in Knysna and what a stunning coastline to photograph. Commodore Capetown was great. Chobe provided all the highlights for elephant, hippos, giraffe, lions, monkeys, buffalo and birdlife and the evening sunset cruise was lovely… New airport at Skukuza is lovely. Wayne…. I can see why you just need to keep going back! This itinerary [Garden Route, Vic Falls/Chobe, Kruger] is a good introduction to South Africa for anyone wanting a two week+ itinerary. Michelle, thanks for your prompt and efficient service to my group requests, much appreciated.
Hi Nikki… just writing to let you know what a wonderful trip we had to Africa. All the flights, transfers and accommodation worked perfectly. But most importantly, the Nomad tour was excellent, well organised with extremely competent and knowledgeable driver /guide and assistant guide/cook making every day’s travel a different experience from the day before with plenty of information about the fauna, flora and geology of the places we visited. Out of your control though we were also lucky in our travelling companions, an amazingly cohesive group aged from 25 to 69. The tents were easy to erect and take down, the camps comfortable, bathrooms occasionally leaving a bit to be desired, and the meals varied, nutricious and tasty. Our only complaint was lack of shock absorbers on the rear of the truck. Please pass on our thanks to Pat who convinced us to go, to Swagman and to Nomad, kind regards.
Hi Treacey,Yes we arrived home safely . Had a wonderful time. Everything went perfectly no hiccups at all.Blue Train is brilliant,We felt so special and cared for, loved Chobe and Vic falls. Think Africa brilliant. So much poverty though, my heart broke with all the slums.Yes we definitely will come back to you for more travel. We wanted to continue while there. But silly little thing called money! Made us come home.
Siobhan, firstly I would like to to say the tour was outstanding in every aspect and probably the most culturally inspiring one out of the 20 I have done… South Africa surprised me as to how beautiful a country it is and Sabi Sabi and Victoria Falls were highlights along with the Zulu dancing at Shakaland. There are many more too numerous to mention… congratulations on putting together such a rewarding tour, job well done and Siobhan I would recommend Swagman to anyone interested in going to South Africa. Kind regards
Hi Treacey, Just like to thank you, the [South African Treasure] tour was fantastic, everyone enjoyed it. Victoria Safari lodge was the best, it had decking where you were able to see the water hole where all the animals came up too. See attached photo from the pool area. Craig was the tour guide on our 15 days and he is very good at his job. Joharn was the driver he was great as well. Only one thing … it would have been nice to have another 2 day break near the end to do another safari tour. Cheers
Well we have been home a week now and it sure doesn’t seem like it! Back to reality! Thank you for organising what turned out to be a wonderful trip. Can’t call it a holiday because I feel like one now to get over our trip! We had the best time and were truly blessed with all the animals we saw, the people we met and the places we went. I must say my favourite camp has to be Elephant Bedroom but the highlight of the trip for me was the balloon flight over the Serengeti. The visits to the elephant orphanage came a close second. It was great to get a half hour with the foster elephant my niece gave me for Christmas… Twiga Tours sure is a great company and both our guides were terrific, especially TJ who accompanied us in Kenya. Really feel like we travelled with a friend not just a guide. And was so nice to meet the Manji family the night before we left Nairobi… (A) great trip and we sure got to see a lot of different types of country with the parks we travelled through as well as the countryside between the parks. Am rather pleased that you organised us to fly from Kenya to Tanzania as it would really have been a “big” day on the road. We did not have any drama with luggage, and feel maybe they were not as strict owing to there not being big numbers on each of our flights. We saw an American group that had duffle bags the size I originally bought and they had no trouble getting them on the small planes. Owing to the fact that we were under 15kg going over, I had to purchase a new suitcase to come home with all our bits and pieces. I was still under the 23kg though. Thank you again for such an enjoyable time
Hi Siobhan! Got home from our trip yesterday and we just wanted to say thank you so much for organizing our trip! Everything ran so smoothly while abroad, and it made our first trip together so much more easier and less nerve-wracking. The tour was incredible and well ran. We will definitely recommend you and Swagman to anyone we know. Once again, thanks so much. Best Regards
Hi Michelle,Well we have been back for over a week from a wonderful holiday once again. Thank you for your assistance everything worked perfectly. One thing I might say is the Tanzanian visa can be purchased at the Kenyan border for $50 not the AUS $95 we paid. Thanking you again, another satisfied customer!
I returned on 11th October after my 42 day camping tour with Nomad from Cape Town to Nairobi, plus an extra 2 and half weeks in Kenya with my family.I had a truly amazing time and my fears about my age were soon put to rest. The first half was all younger people except for myself and a 70 yr old american woman who was very experienced, the second half was all 45-70 yr olds and another 9 Aussies. Nomad provides great value for money, and whilst it was rough at times, there was nothing that I wasn’t expecting on tour, because the pre departure info was good. However, one does need local currency in all the countries to buy water, drinks, snacks etc and the lower denomination USD attract much lower exchange rates than $50-100 notes, and in some places $1 and 5 notes are not acceptable as payment for activities.
